Commission Vampire Counts Army
To balance out the forces of good, it’s time to bring in the forces of evil. This commission involves painting some heroes for Vampire Counts and a unit of Dreadblade Harrows who will act as a unit of Hexwraiths. These models will bolster the ranks of the undead in battles for Warhammer: The Old World. We had to match the bases to our client's existing army. The theme was dusty, grimy, and aged, with the exception of the ethereal elements and minis. The vampire on a dragon features a custom base, crafted by hand and reinforced with a PVC plate for extra stability, to avoid any warping due to the glue. To add more interest, we included additional bases from the Dreadblade Harrows set.
Moreover, the heroes have interchangeable weapons, held in place with magnets. Instead of the horns from the saddle, the vampire now sports a hand-sculpted cape with a freehand skull design. The Wight Kings also have cloaks with ghostly skulls, making them stand out in the unit.
What we’re really excited about is how the Wight King on Skeletal Steed turned out to be the perfect choice for the army’s standard bearer. Giorgio once again showed off his skills by creating and painting a hand-crafted banner, inspired by artwork from the Warhammer Undead 4th edition army book. The mad and charging Black Knight is based on the work of Mark Gibbons — a true masterpiece with incredible atmosphere and style.
