Zacharias the Everliving is a classic and now quite rare model originally released for the Vampire Counts army. This particular version was painted on commission and mounted on a custom scenic base compatible with Warhammer: The Old World. The base includes resin terrain elements from MiniMonsters, integrated to match the character's undead aesthetic.
The model was painted according to the client’s chosen colour scheme. The dragon's wings feature hand-painted spots and vein patterns to enhance texture and contrast. Zacharias is depicted holding the Scrolls of Semhept – a magical item that functions as an unlimited source of Dispel Scrolls, allowing him to automatically negate enemy spells. The scroll includes a small freehand symbol referencing its Khemrian origin, reflecting the lore behind the item.
This was a complex and time-consuming model due to its scale, detail, and unique composition. Its design required careful planning and a methodical approach to ensure each part was properly defined and visually coherent.
A distinctive piece with a lot of character – what are your thoughts on classic models like this one?
